It's no secret that Dr. Chris and Dr. Jenna are major animal lovers. After all, they both grew up with dogs, cats, birds, fish, and hamsters, and they currently have two fur-babies: Addie and Maisey!

In addition to their love for family pets, Dr. Chris and Dr. Jenna love going to the zoo and supporting wildlife conservation efforts. Colorado Springs is home to the ONLY zoo in the country that sits on a mountain! If you haven't been to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo yet, it's definitely one you need to experience!
On Saturday, May 14th, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is hosting Run to the Shrine- a 5K and 10K run/walk for people of all ages and athletic ability. Dr. Chris and Dr. Jenna will be representing CJ Chiropractic at a booth at the race's finish. They have partnered up with Cheryl Snyder of Serenity Balance Massage for chair massages at the booth, and they will be providing free posture screenings along with free BioFreeze samples- all of which are much needed after a race through the zoo, to the Will Rogers Shrine of the Sun, and back! For more information on the Run to the Shrine or to register for the race, go to this website: http://www.cmzoo.org/index.php/guest-information/zoo-events/run-to-the-shrine.
In addition to setting up a booth at the Run to the Shrine race finish, CJ Chiropractic is supporting the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo through their Animal Wish List. Many people aren't aware that our zoo is one of only a few non-profit zoos in the Association of Zoos and Aquariums that does not receive any government funding. Because of this, they rely on events like Run to the Shrine and donations from the public to keep their facilities running and keep the animals happy and healthy. They have a wish list of items they would like for the animals for nutrition, care, and enrichment. We have a collection bin in our practice for anyone who wants to donate any of these items, and we plan on delivering it to the zoo when we set up our booth on May 14th. If you would like to help us help the animals, stop by during any of our open business hours or bring your items for donation to your next appointment! For a complete list of items on the zoo's wish list, go to this website: http://www.cmzoo.org/index.php/support-the-zoo/wish-list.
Give your fur babies a hug from us, and enjoy this beautiful weather with them! We look forward to seeing you in our office and at the Run to the Shrine on Saturday, May 14th!
